In 2024, Guaranteed Irish, the not-for-profit membership organisation that champions businesses rooted in Ireland, marks its 50th anniversary. Over the past half-century, it has grown into a national symbol of trust and provenance, representing over 2,300 members who collectively employ more than 150,000 people across the country with a turnover of €14.2 billion to the Irish economy. Established in 1974, the organisation has long been a stalwart in supporting Irish jobs and strengthening communities.

Economic Impact
Guaranteed Irish businesses, whether homegrown or international, boast an annual turnover among its members of €14.2 billion, with global earnings estimated at €52.27 billion. Many multinational companies based in Ireland are members of the Guaranteed Irish eco-system, contributing to our economy and giving back to the communities in which they do business. These figures reflect the enduring strength of Irish businesses, both at home and internationally. But beyond financial metrics, Guaranteed Irish is also a driver of sustainable growth.

According to the Red C Research 2024, 80% of Irish consumers agree that purchasing from Guaranteed Irish members supports a sustainable economy. This reflects a growing awareness among shoppers of the importance of responsible consumption. In fact, 81% of those surveyed stated that the Guaranteed Irish symbol distinguishes brands that actively support Irish jobs and the circular economy.

The Symbol of Trust – ‘G’
The famous ‘G’ symbol, which almost three-quarters of consumers in Ireland now recognise, serves as a badge of trust and integrity for businesses that carry it. But Guaranteed Irish is more than just a logo — it is a movement dedicated to building and maintaining a strong Irish economy. From large companies to SMEs, homegrown and international, its members span a range of industries, all united by their shared commitment to contributing positively to supporting local jobs and the communities these jobs are based in.

A 2024 report by Red C research reveals that 90% of Guaranteed Irish members believe that the organisation has positively impacted their financial performance. For consumers, the 'G' is an assurance that their money is going toward supporting jobs and sustainability efforts right here in Ireland.

As Guaranteed Irish celebrates its golden anniversary, it does so with its eyes firmly on the future. Guaranteed Irish’s continued relevance is a testament to its adaptability and commitment to evolving values such as sustainability and diversity.
